O'Neill Brothers Release Celebrate America, a 35-song Collection of Patriotic Standards and Americana Favorites
The O'Neill Brothers have donated copies of the collection to each of the VA
Hospitals across the country. This new American classic collection of 35 instrumental
patriotic songs is one of the first of its kind. With their signature style, The
O-Neill Brothers strip away just a bit of the fanfare and allow the raw emotions of
each of these poignant melodies to sing through.
NEW PRAGUE, MN (June 14, 2005)
- From sea to shining sea, America stands on the pride of its heritage and the strength of its spirit.
Celebrate America, the 20th release from pianists The O'Neill Brothers, is a two-CD
collection of songs that honor that great tradition, including beautiful patriotic
standards and classic American favorites. Dedicated to the men and women, past and
present, who serve our country each day, Celebrate America is a tribute to the
strength of the American spirit.
"Many of these patriotic tunes have been so interwoven into our American way of life,
they've almost lost some of their meaning," says Tim O'Neill. "We hear them on the
Fourth of July as the fireworks fly, but we miss some of the subtleties of the songs.
What we wanted to do with Celebrate America is to present the melodies without the
full orchestra, cannon fire, and crashing cymbals, and let people hear them the way
they were originally intended to be heard - as moving, emotional, and absolutely
beautiful reflections of a truly great nation."
The O'Neill Brothers' arrangements of classics such as America the Beautiful,
The
Star Spangled Banner, My Country -Tis of Thee (America), and Tie a Yellow Ribbon
'Round the Ole Oak Tree make the perfect backdrop for a neighborhood picnic, a
memorial event, or a trip across the country. These songs evoke the unwavering
courage, camaraderie and sacrifice of our nation and its people.
Tim and Ryan O'Neill have sold more than one million CDs - without being associated
with a major record label. Along the way, the brothers have written and performed
music for HBO (including music for "Sex and the City"), NBC and ESPN; and performed
for President George H.W. Bush.
